Is this really necessary to add -Dkind8 in the makefile anymore?? I found no kind8 string over all source codes (*.F).

How about -DPGF90?? When I use intel compile should I still add -DPGF90??

yes, please keep Dkind8 the precision of the variables is declared in symbol.inc. Whether it is necessary to keep DPGF90 depends on
whether your compiler handles the modules and interfaces in hamil, aedens, force and us correctly
