About the DOS generated by VASP code

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have a question about the DOS. How does the VASP generate the DOS? Does it broaden the bands with a function such as gaussion function? If yes, what function is empolyed and how can I get the broadening width used in VASP?

it depends on the BZ- integration algorithm. Please have a look at the k-points.pdf file of the VASP-workshop
