Dear admin,
Normally, in VASP calculation, we use the periodic boundary condition. However, when we apply external electric field to the supercell (such as a standard surface system), the potential will not be periodic. So how about your understanding?
Thanks

About the external electric field and periodic boundary condition
the shape of the external potential is jigsaw-like (and therefore periodic as well)
